Back when Jimmy and his wife were both on this Earth, I was told by a neighbor (I live in Atlanta) that the next time I go to NYC I MUST go to Jimmy's Corner. I could describe in detail how awesome it was but it would take forever. Fast forward, to summarize the experience, I was with two friends. Jimmy's wife was bartending and asked what we wanted to drink. My first friend said, Maker's on the rocks, my other friend said, Makers and Coke, and I said Maker's and Diet. She looked at us like she was either going to kick us out or kick our ass. Mrs. Jimmy said "what the f*ck, get your shit together and I'll be back." The next night we wound up at Jimmy's again. Later in the night I stood up and asked Mrs. Jimmy if I could get a picture with her. Her response, classic again, "so you want me to just f*cking stand here so you can take a f*cking picture of me?" Btw, no picture was taken. One of the best weekends of my life.

The bar is classic. The bartender with the dreadlocks seems to be heavy with sadness maybe he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders? Hopefully the clouds will part and grant him a lil sunshine.

My fav dive bar in the city I always meet so many funny people and it's fun to talk to people here - last time met a man who told me he was a construction worker when Durst was building the Bank of America tower in Bryant park!

It's a dive bar that's cheap authentic and an oasis of real in midtown. Very rare. Usually very busy, but I like standing.
